A couple of weeks ago, I took my rake inside to replace a tine and reglass it over the weekend
and I left on my route Monday without it.  I had one of these little Bond shovels in the truck

so I used it on the first job.  It took about three times as long and was a total PITA.
I went back home and got my rake.
I don't know how the shovel people do it, rakes are soooooooo much easier!

I agree.  I started with a shovel until I got tendinitis in my elbow.  My doctor told me to stop scooping.   Roll Eyes

9 months with a long handled rake and it was gone.

Speaking of the Bond rakes, I ordered one through Ace hardware, and they've changed from the
round wire tines to flat ones.  They don't look as strong, I'll glass it and try it out and post results.

Why do they always have to change things when the old way worked?

Don't know.  It kinda pisses me off, these new tines don't look strong enough to pry a frozen
turd out of the grass without bending.  My guess is it's cheaper to stamp the flat tines rather
than drawing the round ones, or however they do it.  Of course, they're still charging the same.   Angry
